Thank you for your interest in the future of AGS. A gift in your will is one of the most meaningful and enduring gifts you can make and is an indication of your affection for the School.
For hundreds of years, Aylesbury Grammar School has been a special place to learn. It is evident from the many paths Old Aylesburians are following that their education provided them with the foundations for a lifetime of success. From musicians to journalists, from architects to consultants, from teachers to sporting professionals, from engineers to politicians and beyond! It is true to say that Old Aylesburians are making their mark, all over the world.
Every Aylesburian has been the beneficiary of the generations that have gone before; every generation has inherited opportunities that are the envy of their predecessors. All too often, these developments came about after their time at the School – a brand new Main School Entrance to better safeguard our students and staff, a new Art, Design & Technology block, remodelled Sixth Form Centre, recently refurbished Maths block and staff room.
These developments were supported and often made possible by the generosity of Old Aylesburians, parents of Old Aylesburians or friends of the School – loyal members of our community who benefited from their education and who chose to become benefactors.
Some are well known names in Aylesbury Grammar School’s history, such as Professor William R. Mead, and others are simply passionate about being part of the future and helping to deliver an exceptional teaching and learning environment. They hold Aylesbury Grammar School in affection and want to give something back. By doing so, they set an example that carries the torch of generosity from one generation to the next.
Our financial situation is challenging on many levels and the income received from Buckinghamshire County Council barely meets our annual basic operating costs. It might surprise you to know that AGS is one of the most poorly funded schools in Bucks. Consequently any meaningful capital improvements must come from additional resources such as grants or individual gifts and pledges.
Whatever their size, legacy gifts support the aspirations of future generations of students here at AGS. We are truly grateful to all those who plan to remember the School in this special way.
